What Is Telehealth Dermatology?

Telehealth dermatology – also called teledermatology is a convenient way to see one of our board-certified dermatologists or PAs online via secure video visit, without having to come into our Burien or Bellevue offices. You get the same expert care and personalized attention you’d expect in person, all from wherever you are.

Whether you’re managing an existing skin condition, noticing something new, or simply need a prescription refill, our telehealth visits make it easy to get the dermatology care you need on your schedule.

How Does a Telehealth Dermatology Visit Work?

Getting started is simple. Here’s what to expect:

  • Schedule online or by phone: Book your telehealth appointment through our patient portal or by calling either of our locations.
  • Complete your intake forms: You’ll receive a link to complete paperwork and upload photos of your skin concern ahead of your visit.
  • Join your secure video visit: At your appointment time, connect with your dermatologist or PA via our secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. No downloads required — just click the link.
  • Get your diagnosis & treatment plan: Your provider will discuss your concerns, make a diagnosis, and recommend a personalized treatment plan. Prescriptions can be sent directly to your pharmacy.
  • Follow up as needed: If your condition requires an in-person visit, biopsy, or procedure, we’ll seamlessly schedule you at our Burien or Bellevue clinic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see a telehealth dermatologist if I’m a new patient?

Yes! Telehealth visits are available to both new and existing patients. New patients will complete intake forms online prior to their first visit.

What do I need for a telehealth visit?

All you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and internet connection. Good lighting helps — natural light near a window works great for skin concerns.

Can I get a prescription through a telehealth dermatology visit?

Yes. If a prescription is appropriate for your condition, your provider can send it electronically to your preferred pharmacy during or after your visit.

What if I need an in-person procedure?

If your condition requires a biopsy, surgical procedure, or in-office treatment (like laser therapy or Mohs surgery), your telehealth provider will refer you directly to one of our clinic locations. The transition is seamless.

Does telehealth dermatology work for skin cancer screenings?

Telehealth can be used for initial evaluation of concerning lesions or moles, but a full-body skin cancer screening is best performed in person. If you notice something worrying, don’t wait — book a telehealth consult and we’ll guide you on next steps.
